Exfoliants
Our skin naturally sheds dead skin cells every 30 days or so. Exfoliating is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of our skin. Tools used to exfoliate can be physical such as a brush or granular substance or chemical such as glycolic acid.
Dead skin cells do not shed completely and over time can result in the skin appearing flaky and dry. These dead skin cells can also get trapped in pores and cause clogging and possibly acne. Exfoliating can help prevent this.
